New HD cable box not working

New HD cable box not working

I have 2 HD cable boxes, one stopped working over the weekend so I switched the good box back and forth between TV's until I could replace the box that didn't work.

Today I went to the Comcast store and got a replacement that still didn't work, but my other HD box still works fine on both TV's.

What could be the problem?

Have you tried resetting the new box a few times?

 

Did you call Comcast to have them walk you through the set while checking things on their end?

 

It is possible to get a bad box when exchanging? They are "refurbished" boxes and may have been damaged when returned to service center. Go exchange it again. This happened to me just last year, and a friend of mine a few months before me.
