Microsoft Silverlight

I keep receiving an error message that MS Silverlight needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled - Have done this several times but continue to receive the same error message: "This video cannot be played. We have detected a problem with your Microsoft Silverlight installation (Error 525|1001). To fix this problem please uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Silverlight. For instructions on how to fix your problem click below." I've also followed the additional instructions but to no avail. Using Windows. Please help!

Thanks

Re: Microsoft Silverlight

As it turned out, I made sure every file with Silverlight in the name on my Mac was deleted and then installed it again from the button on the show we wanted to watch. It worked. But thanks for the tip about trusted hosts.

Re: Microsoft Silverlight

I'm having the same problem. What is going on? Silverlight didn't used to be required for these shows.

You must add xfinitytv.com and xfinity.com as trusted websites

cmcwill9, please try this:

  1. In Google Chrome, click on the little wrench in the right hand side of the browser to get to the main menu.
  2. Click on Options
  3. Click on Under the Hood located on the left-hand menu
  4. Scroll down to Network and click on Change proxy settings...
  5. Click on the Security tab.
  6. Click on Trusted Sites, which is identified by the green check mark, and then click on the Sites
  7. Type in *.xfinitytv.com and *.xfinity.com
  8. Click Add
  9. Click Close
  10. Click the OK

gpgp: On a Mac/Safari, you must add xfinitytv.com and xfinity.com as a trusted site through your Keychain Access (found in your Applications > Utilities)

Thanks,
Joe
