Merrimack NH 03054 - Ipad as a remote - is this functionality available in my area?

I have a cisco 150 box. Do I need to have an ethernet connection to the box for my ipad to act as

a remote?

The control goes over the Comcast IP network, then back to the box over the coax, not directly to the box.  The box has a IP address from the Comcast IP network through the coax.

Comcast will email you when these features are available to your specific area.

No, the ethernet ports on cable boxes are not active.  Connecting to that port causes havoc on your home network.

Your mobile device needs to connect to your home network's wi-fi connection.

The remote control and other mobile and web features are not yet active on Cisco equipment except some area's with the new AnyRoom DVR , it is coming later for stand alone boxes after Guide 2.0 is deployed.

Re: Merrimack NH 03054 - Ipad as a remote - is this functionality available in my are

First how will I know when this functionality is available in my area?

Second just out of curiosity how will my Ipad be able to change the channels on the cable box

if I do not have an internet connection to the cable box? The Ipad has a wifi connection to my

comcast internet router.

Thanks for the quick reply!

It's 3 months later. Is this functionality available yet in Merrimack NH?

If not do you have an idea as to when it will be?
