Loss of signal for a few seconds at a time

I seem to be seeing more and more loss of signal for a few seconds at a time.  The TV hooked to the cable box just goes dark for a few seconds with no break up now.  It used to break up and then seem to start up again.  Sometimes I would get voice ok but broken picture.  The bedroom tv uses the adapter not a box and it will flash up a notice that a loss of signal has been detected and I am to check my connections but it will start up again and then stop again and the message will come up again.  I started paying for an in home wiring protection plan but I am not sure if it is past the 60 day waiting period before I can use it.  It seems like the loss of signal happens for no apparent reason as it happens at different times of the day and the weather does not seem to have anything to do with it.  I am open to suggestions on how to proceed from here to get an uninterupped signal.  terrytallent1
