It appears that xfinity tv got hacked.

It appears that xfinity tv got hacked.  @ ~ 4:30 pm today nbc and cbs began running extended public service ads in place of regular programming for 20 minutes, and a 4:00 scheduled recording on fox did not occur.  Abc and fox had normal programming.  I called tech support and they said that that they reset these channels and the problem went away, but they did not give me an explanation as to what occurred.  I live in Springfield, OR.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I just want to know what happened and tech support would not or could not give an explanation so she directed me to the website. So here I am.

Again, has anyone else had this experience?

Comcast rarely "admits" anything. Suggest you Google your concerns.

Most likely cause is a lightning storm in your area. The local cable center gets affected by close lightning strikes just like your router, TV, cable-box.

They need to be reset sometimes.

Any person, business, government, can get hacked and I am sure cable companies address this concern more than most. Their very business requires diligence on this subject.
