How to turn on and off a companion box PX032ANI while saving the maximum energy.

Frequent Visitor

How to turn on and off a companion box PX032ANI while saving the maximum energy.

I am very confused about turning this box on and off.

I understand that the power switch on the remote has been deactivated for sync reasons.

However, there seems to be no way to turn it on other than going up to it and touching the power button on top of the box. The power on buttons do not work despite the direction I found here:

https://www.xfinity.com/support/cable-tv/x1-power-save-faqs/

saying that

  • Once your TV Box is in Power Saver mode, turn it back on by pressing any button on your remote control.

I watch an hour of TV a day, so I don't want the box on for the rest of the time.

I've fiddled with HDMI-CEC settings, but that only turns the box off and only sometimes. About every third time, the box does not turn off when the TV turns off.

And, after all of that, there is no way to turn the box back on when I do watch my hour.

Can someone tell me how to configure whatever I need to configure so that the cable box comes on when I turn the TV on and turns off when I turn the TV off. And to save the maximum amount of energy?  Seems simple enough, right?

did a computation some time ago and if you plug in the device and put it in powersave mode for 24/7/365 for a year you would save nearly $1.00
