How Does Two X1 DVR's Function?

How Does Two X1 DVR's Function?

Hi, everyone,

I've been looking into expanding my storage space and thus am thinking about getting 2 DVRs for my X1 system. What I can't get from Comcast is a consistent answer to my question which is how does the X1 system work with two DVR's. That is, are both DVRs accessible from the regular/satellite boxes? Do the satellite boxes have to be assigned to one of the DVRs and not have access to the other? Or would the 2 DVR's function as one in a unified networked environment?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

To put it simply, X1 DVRs "pool" and work together. It works well.

For many people the problem is that all users will be able to see all recordings on all DVRs. There is no "private" recordings.

I have three DVR's because we are retired and we watch a lot of TV and we needed enough tuners to record multiple programs at the same time slots.
