Error Message 555

Error Message 555

On almost every show I always get Error 555, it tells me to refresh but it still occurs.  Some shows, for example real world or Dexter I have no problems watching.  But if I want to watch secret circle, Grey's anatomy, etc.  I get that message.

Re: Error Message 555

Hi Lois,

I can try to help, but I need a little more information from you first.  Are you seeing this error when you try to watch certain shows on your tv or on the Xfinity TV website?  Is it when you try to watch something On Demand or on your dvr?  Also, can you tell me exactly what the error message says?

Thanks,
Ken

Re: Error Message 555

Only when trying to watch on xfinity tv website.  The message I receive is

Sorry, we've experienced some difficulty playing your video.

Please refresh this page in your browser to try again.

(Error 555)

and then it gives me an option to refresh.  But when I refresh it still comes back with the same error.

Lois7896,

It sounds like your problem is a Flash Player issue.

Please completely remove and un-install all Adobe Flash Player files and then go here to reinstall it. Once you have reinstalled Flash, try playing Grey's Anatomy again.

Let me know the results.

Thanks,
Joe

Re: Error Message 555

That did not resolve the issue, not sure why it would be a flash issue, when some videos are working and some are not.

Re: Error Message 555

Lois7896,

Not all of our videos use Flash but the one's you mention do use it.

Try using a different web browser and let me know if it works. This is not a permanent solution but it will help us narrow down your issue.

Thanks,
Joe

Are videos not working or are you getting a Error 555 screen?

What videos are you trying to watch?

Have you uninstalled Flash Player and re-installed it?

Do you have any anti-virus software installed? If so, your firewall may be blocking videos from playing. Make sure you are allowing Xfinitytv.com and Flash to be allowed to pass through your firewall.
