Error 525\6013

New Poster

Error 525\6013

I keep getting this message when I try to play some videos on Xfinity:

This video cannot be played.

We notice you do not have DRM support enabled for Microsoft Silverlight (Error 525|6013).

I done everything that the trouble shooter advised, but still keep getting this message.

This does not happen on all videos, just some of them....why?

Delete Silverlight and then try clearing any hidden PlayReady cache. To do that:

Go to Start and search "cmd". "cmd.exe will appear and right-click it and Run as an administrator. Now enter the folling into the command line:

cd %ProgramData%\Microsoft\PlayReady\
del *.hds
rmdir /S Cache

You'll be presented with a Yes/No prompt. Hit Y and press Enter. Windows will delete the hidden Cache folder and all its content.

After that, please installed the version of Silverlight linked below:

Windows users

Thanks,
Joe
