Keep getting the 422  Video is currently unavailable message...Help!

I'm receiving the same messages each time I turn the TV on it says video unavailable. I've contacted comcast many times and they say it's a problem with the box and or HDMI cable while the techs that come to the house say that their cable system isn't compatible with certain TV brands. Two different answers from the same company and they contradict one another. I have a Toshiba flat screen that is 7 months old and have no interest in changing sets the only change I'm ready to make is to move away from Comcast.
