Downloaded video will not play - XFINITY TV PLAYER APP

I am trying to use the new download feature on the TV player app but I keep receiving an error message that says "we are experiencing difficulties playing your video.".

I tried on both at iPhone 4 and iPad 3rd gen. Running iOS 5.1.1.

Thanks

Hello,

You must be an XFINITY TV customer with a subscription to one or more of the eligible channels to stream or download content.

I am. Like I said above, I have downloaded the show already. Upon playback, I receive the error message. The streaming works fine through the Xfinity TV remote app.  Not through the TV Player app though.

If its not an error on comcasts end which it probably is, that won't be fixed till monday try this in the mean time, I would not waste to much time on this.

go to the app and to settings and sign out.  clear cookies and cache. now go back to the app and sign back in and try it.

No dice Signed out. Went to settings and then cleared cookies and data in Safari. Those are the only cookies to clear. I guess that's what you meant with the cookies since there are no cookies to clear in the xfinity app.

Thanks for the tip even though it didn't work. Maybe they will get it sort out Monday.

Thanks

I would like to further look into this.

What was the video that you downloaded?

Did you try downloading any other videos? If so, were they giving you this same issue?

Thanks,
Joe

Re: Downloaded video will not play - XFINITY TV PLAYER APP

I attempted to download three different episodes of Dexter. I believe they were episode 5, 6 & 7 of this season. All gave me the same error. In addition, the streaming did not work either through the TV player app. Streaming worked fine through the TV Remote app.

Can you try using the XFINITY TV Player App on a different Wi-Fi connection and see if the same issues are occurring.

I am experiencing the same message.  I can't get video to play on iPhone 4S.  Plays just fine on iPad 2.  Any ideas why?

Unless my cable boxes count, the iPad and iPhone total 2 devices.

try deleteing the 4s out of the set up on that devices screen.  Log out of the app, delete it, restart install the app log in and try it again.

I am getting this same message, did you ever find a solution?

I downloaded a movie, played it right away to make sure it worked which it did.  Then i downloaded like 4 more (for a long car ride) and am now getting this message when I try to play any of them.  What gives?!?!?!
