Doesn't recognize that Microsoft Silverlight has been downloaded

I downloaded Microsoft Silverlight to my computer, as required by Xfinity.  Now, when I try to play any video, Xfinity does not recognize that it is on my computer, and it continues to tell me that I need to download it.  I have shut down my computer and restarted it, but nothing changes.  Why??

Are you using Internet Explorer in 64-bit or 32-bit?

Thanks,

I am sorry but Internet Explorer 64-bit is not supported. Please use IE9 32-bit, Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari to watch videos online.
