DVR manager

is there anybody who can tell me how to get the dvr manager operating? it has been on "Syncing in Process" for days. After hours on "chat with clueless comcast people", unbearable hold times waiting for clueless comcast "support" people and three dvr recorders,we are more than ready for direct tv.
