DVR Manager

DVR Manager

Is there a way to use tv.xfinity.com/ to access the DVR Manager to change recording priorities?

The support page that describes the process is here;

https://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/internet/set-dvr-recordings-from-your-computer

but when I attempt to activate the DVR Manager using the DVR Manager activation page at http://xfinitytv.com/mytv/dvr it redirects to https://tv.xfinity.com/recordings which is just a list of some (not all) of my recordings.

Those instructions pertain to the dvr manager  on the old web page. The new one has a limited dvr manager and does not include the series priority manager. The new site has lost many of the great useful features the old site had.

Now that the last manufacturer of VHS recorders has ceased production, Comcast has started their migration towards removal of DVR funtionality. The first step was making the DVR useful enough to kill off analog recording, the next  is to make the DVR so difficult to use that people will give up and settle for On Demand programming, where they are forced to live with commercials.

This. It's not sufficient that you pay a fee for the programming. You must pretend that you actively enjoy watching the commercials; and really, what choice do you have?

For those of us of a Certain Age, when cable first started 'cable channel' meant 'no ads'. Ha ha!

Re: DVR Manager

This does not work for me. I get an error saying it cannot retreive my recordings.

Also needed to have Comcast bring back: ability to set non-X1 DVR recordings from my PC. I have the Xfinity TV app on my tablet and phone and there is no way to set recordings from either.

It seems clear that Comcast wants everyone on X1 and that means we have to watch commercials. This is not progress!

Since you have non x1 equipment, your only option to set/use dvr is with the xfinity remote app or the old fashioned remote control
