Cisco DVR & Xfinity Apps and website program guide

I just got new service and I got a Cisco HD DVR and a Scientific Atlanta Digital box. They both seem to not be compatible with the Xfinity apps that you can use to schedule recordings and change the channel. Does anyone know when or if they will be adding support for this? Should I see if I can get comcast to change my boxes to something that will work, or do these boxes have advantages I shouldn't give up, or is it simply not possible in my area? (I beleive I am on Comcast Cherry Hill, NJ)

There are no firm dates, and no one in a SA area has gotten it yet.

The move to I-Guide in the last 9 months was the start of porting the new features to SA equipment.

When you have Scientific Atlanta / Cisco equipment, you can't change to Motorola equipment as they are not compatible.

Re: Cisco DVR & Xfinity Apps and website program guide

Then why did they tell me that the online functions are availible in my area if I can't get equipment that can do what they said?

I actually went into a chat with a tech and they didn't even tell me what their own FAQ lists, that my boxes are not compatible with the internet thing.

Can you explain to me what the I Guide is, or what I am waiting for to get this functionality?

Re: Cisco DVR & Xfinity Apps and website program guide

The I-Guide is the new on screen guide software that runs on the box.  The move to I-Guide is necessary to start deploying the features in the future.  The old guide would not support the upcoming features that are already supported in the I-Guide version running on Motorola equipment.

No one from this Community user to user forum can answer why Comcast tells you what they tell you, right or wrong.
