Change Channels from PC

Everytime I try and change a Channel from my PC,It goes through the Motions just like it's going to do what it's supposed to do,The TV responses to the request,But right before you Expect the Channel to change,A Message pops up,And Says,Please Exit to a Live Channel,then change channel or something like that,what does it mean to Exit to a Live Channel,I Definetly have no clue,Thanks

Ok so a few questions.  What cable box do you have?  What channel are you watching?  A live channel is one that is not on demand or on the menu.  Do you have all your cable boxes labeled correctly?  What happens if you use your remote do you have any issues?
