Cable box displays 'boot'cable box has been displaying

Cable box displays 'boot'cable box has been displaying

My cable box has been displaying 'boot' for several hours.  I have tried rebooting the box and resetting the cable modem. nothing seems to work.  I do have phone and internet service.
