Cable Remote

I've had xfinity for a year and never could program my remote! I can use it to turn on the box and tv, surfing channels, mute, etc. I have never been able to pause live tv or record anything. It was never set up to the box. Does anyone have an easy answer? I'm thinking maybe just quit cable and watch stuff online.

The easy answer is that you have a non-dvr Standard def Digital box that doesn't have the ability to pause live tv. You would need to upgrade your equipment/package.
