Brand New Voice Remote Control no longer working after few days

Brand New Voice Remote Control no longer working after few days

I just upgraded to the x1 dvr box with a professional installation. It went well. However the remote control that comes with the box is no longer working after 3 days of use. It's a brand new voice remote control model xr11 v3-utu. It has a blue flashing light and nothing works. I've changed the batteries and tried a factory reset, but it still does not work.

How can I fix this remote control? Thank you.

Stop by a Comcast service center and have them replace it for you.

RickGr4 - thanks for your reply and interesting solution. Seriously.

However, any other ideas on what to do with a remote control with a flashing blue light and is no longer working? Anyone....

Thanks again.

I am serious. It sounds like the remote is defective.

Comcast service centers give away remotes for free.

for fun, press the setup button on the remote until the LED changes from red to green. type in the numbers 981 - the LED and keypad will go dark and the remote is now in factory fresh condition. then press the setup button until the LED changes to green and press the Xfinity button. type the numbers you see on the TV screen.

Thanks for the suggestion Rusty. However, when I press and hold the setup button, the LED light remains blue and flashing. It won't change to red or green and pressing 9-8-1 does nothing. So I have to return it.

the blue LED only comes on when the voice button is pressed. Pehaps you need to go into the Comcast store and get a new remote (free).
