Bad viewing quality

Bad viewing quality

I can watch shows and they look ok on the computer, but when I watch show on my hdtv that is hooked up to the computer it is grainy and details are box - y. Do I need to upgrade my silverlight and flash player? My info is as follows:

well the feed is not hd from the pc to the tv so its not going to look the best.
