Apple TV

Apple TV

Considering APPLE TV.

Are there any restrictions to using APPLE TV with my existing Comcast ?  Any considerations I should know about ?

Re: Apple TV

I just bought one myself. The biggest problem is that Comcast has disabled the Airplay function within the Comcast/Xfinity go app so you can't relay content from your iPad or iPhone to your TV. Hopefully, Comcast will abide by the new Net Neutrality laws and fix their app soon. The basic principle is that broadband service is considered a utility due to a lack of competitive options. If you pay for broadband service, a company shouldn't be able to block you from using your own device to view content you've already paid for.

Other than that, Apple TV is the best of the bunch by far. Especially if you have a growing iTunes library like I do. But it also works well with Netflix, PBS, Hulu and others. You can even Airplay Amazon Prime.
