4004 when connecting from houses modem.

4004 when connecting from houses modem.

i've seen where 4004 is caused when someone's trying to access the app away from home, but what about when you get that error in house. The most i've been able to figure out is that it has something to do with the router. bypass and hardwire into modem and all's happy-lovely. so what would I (and other users) be looking for as far as router settings? are there ports that need to be opened or some querky setting that was up to this point not causing a visible problem?

please help us internet. I've found the "what" of the problem, now i just need the "why" and i think a great many of us will be good.

Go here and make sure that you have a router that is compatible with Xbox.
