11/1/12: Why does the Online TV Listing show "TBD" on shows that are schedules?

11/1/12: Why does the Online TV Listing show "TBD" on shows that are schedules?

Every Sunday I use the Online TV Listing to schedule my DVRs for the next 7-days.  I have notice that the Online TV Listing has serveral show that are schedule like "Convert Affairs" at 10:00 pm ET on channel 27, show TBD. If I call this schedule up on the remote it show the correct schedule. Why is the Online TV Listing not updated correctly?

There is a problem on comcasts end.  You do not need to see the listing to set the recording the dvr is a dummy all it does it take that timeslot it does not care if there is a description or not.

Re: Why does the Online TV Listing show "TBD" on shows that are schedules?

I know that the dvr just records time, but it is impostable to send a recording from the online to the dvr with the "TBD" marking. I have to record my shows from the dvr.  This becomes very hard when you want to record a show 7 days inadvance.  When will Comcast correct this problem?  I notice today that many shows are still marked "TBD".

Try using a different web browser and let me know if it works. This is not a permanent solution but it will help us narrow down your issue.

I am seeing the same thing in 30338. A lot of TBD entries. You can't click on them to set recording.

Are you referring to the online TV listings or the listings on your TV?

What is your service area?

Does the whole grid say TBD or just a few channels? If just a few channels, which specific ones?

That is not an error. Fox just has not announced what they are showing in that timeslot yet. When they do, we will update the grid accordingly.

Re: Why does the Online TV Listing show "TBD" on shows that are schedules?

Sorry Joe - that doesn't seem right.  I just went to the guide on the TV, pulled it up and found the listing for Fringe in that timeslot as it should be.  The online guide still shows TBD.

What are your service areas?

What specific channels and times are showing TBD?

Are you looking at the current day or future days?

Are the listings appearing on your cable box?

Re: Why does the Online TV Listing show "TBD" on shows that are schedules?

Short answer is it's the identical problem you solved back on 11/2 at the top of this thread.

My service area is 30338. Currently Comcast Dekalb County Digital. I tried changing to several different specific providers, i.e. Dekalb standard, dekalb digital, dekalb broadband. No solution.

It's many different channels spread across the board. A quick look at the next week as mutlitple TBDs spread across all of my 25 or so favorites.

Both. For instance, tonight the entry for Fox at 8pm is correct. At 9pm it is TBD.

They do appear correct on the cable box.

Same problem with same TBDs in all browsers, IE, Chrome and FF

During this time, many networks do not know what they are going to air next week yet. Since they have not announced anything yet, the listing is TBD.

As for Fox tonight, they have recently decided that they will be showing an episode of Mob Doctor in the 9 PM time slot. This was TBD for so long because Fox has cancelled this show but has decided to run the remaining new episodes.

Re: Why does the Online TV Listing show "TBD" on shows that are schedules?

Sorry, if I wasn't clear. Currently in the 8-11PM prime time time slot for this week, there are 22 TBD slots across my 18 favorited channels, ABC, FOX, CBS, NBC, etc. The day time line-up is much worse. All of these shows appear correctly on the TV version of the grid. Was the X-Factor also cancelled and reinstated? How is this different than back one month ago when you acknowledge that it was a problem and solved it? As a workaround, if the time slot could be set to record it wouldn't be a problem, but that functionality is cripped also.

Thanks

on line tv guide

The on line tv guide is the worst tv listing on the internet. Yahoo and Excite are so much more accurate. Can't whoever programs this consult with the other websites or even the guide on the tv!. There is no excuse, except incompetance, for "TBD" to show on the guide when the listing on the guide on the tv is accurate.

Re: Why does the Online TV Listing show "TBD" on shows that are schedules?

The online guide today is showing lots of TBD's. Some days are better than others, today is bad. We never used to get any TBD's at all. Something is different lately. Zip 02093 if it matters.

Example: Judge Judy is on every day at 4, shows TBD.

the Xfinity Online Show Schedule/ Online Remote Control - "TBD"

Thanks to kevj and others for sending me to the right forum and helping me to calm down.

I have been experiencing rather bazaar problems with http://Xfinitytv.Comcast.net/TV-listings

the "Xfinity Online Show Schedule/Online Remote Control". Over the last couple months (CLOSER TO THREE) there have been more and more shows displaying "TBD" (in fact, 247 - AntennaTV in St Paul does not even show on the schedule). When viewing the schedule using the handheld remote, all the shows are there.

I don't want to count how many hours I have spent online tech support and on my own - to no avail - and with absolutely no recognition by the Comcast Techs that the problem is on their side of the routers.

After reviewing the chat logs and estimating my time - i HAVE ALREADY WASTED, AT THE VERY MINIMUM, FOUR MAN-DAYS TROUBLESHOOTING THEIR PROBLEM WITH ONLINE CHAT AND ON MY OWN TO NO AVAIL.

ALL WITH NO DESIRE TO TROUBLESHOOT AND REPAIR THEIR PROBLEM.

Below is the list of all my own troubleshooting steps and I'm not going to list the endless circles the Techs have sent me.

I have tried:

1) Different computer,
2) Different OS,
3) Updating everything to current,
4) Logged in Safe Mode/Networking,
5) Changed my Comcast Central Office
(Location/Zip Code) setting,
6) Different browsers,
7) Rebooted cable modem,
7a) Rebooted routers,
7b) Rebooted computers,
7c) Replaced cable box and
have it activated by Xfinity.
8) Reconfigured my network and computer
to to a single computer on the Cable box,
9) Disabled all AV, Firewalls. Anti Spyware
and other protections, and
10) several additional items -

10a) Log into xfinity under a different account

10b) Change settings on the page

10c) verifying all my locale settings are correct

10d) and then .....

Not to mention:

11) Countless useless support chat sesions escalated to Level Two support
12) Researching the knowledge base and -
13) Googled it to death.

Having been an Internet/Computer expert for over 20 years, I can tell when I am being fed a line of baloney..

ONCE AGAIN, XFINITY SUPPORT FALLS FLAT AND STILL BLAMES ME, MY COMPUTER, AND
THINGS OUTSIDE THEIR FACILITIES AND NETWORK - EXCEPT THEIR OWN APPLICATION, SERVERS,
NETWORK, DATABASES AND OTHER COMCAST AREAS.

THEY CONSTANTLY ASK ME TO "TRY THIS ...", "TRY THAT ...", "TRY SOMETHING ELSE..." and every time i talk to someone there are no notes of the previous sessions, or they just don't read them. - They make me try the same things over and over.

Clearly they don't care much whether this convenient app functions or not.

They keep using using the corporate tactic of pushing their problem off on the customer (me) insisting that I did something to make this happen. Couldn't they instead be honest and investigating their own house

(web servers, applications, databases, etc.).

Push that problem outside Xfinity and it might disappear - ain't that the technique?

You boys ever hear the one about the man who lives in the glass house not throwing stones?
This is SO DEFINITELY ON YOUR SIDE OF THE POP ROUTERS - now do your job if you please.

At least admit that the problem is on Comcast's side and apologize. All I get is "Thank you for your report ... we appreciate ...." (or something along that line).

I've BTDTGATTS - JMHO - "Been There, Done That, Got All The Tee Shirts".

I tried to schedule my DVR today for the Dec. 31 to Jan. 6, 2013.  ALL CHANNELS IN 2013 SHOW "TDB". WHAT IS GOING ON?

Regular Contributor

Re: Why does the Online TV Listing show "TBD" on shows that are schedules?

Comcast seems to have quit providing support here other than locking threads when multiple people report the same problem.

This particular problem is some sort of programming issue with their calendar app. If you click on January 1st, you will notice it says Sunday - don't know what year it is looking at. The workaround is to look at Dec 31, then click the right arrows to get through the days. This returns the correct schedules.

Re: Why does the Online TV Listing show "TBD" on shows that are schedules?

Ditto.  Same problem in 94022.  All shows starting Jan. 1 are TBD.  I am at a remote location so cannot program my DVR beyond Dec. 31.  clearly this is a problem running back at least 4 years (note thread starts in 2008).

I also get double listings of what has been recorded.  This DVR Manager tool needs attention by Comcast/Xfinity.

TV Listing

The 2013 calendar for TV Listings has not been updated.  It reads, "TBA" for all channels from January 1st on.  Please update as many people use this as their "watchers guide".
