broadcast test lasting 15 minutes?

broadcast test lasting 15 minutes?

I'm using the streaming TV app and it is getting a "Testing signal test" from 3:11 to 3:26. blocking all channels. Why so long ? The same broadcast test on TV usually lasts 15 seconds? Why is the mobile app being blocked for 15 minutes?

if that is an EMS or similar government test you would have to speak to the agency named in the test. Comcast is obligated under law/rules to turn over the channel streams to the EMS in your area when activated.

Yes but I would like to know why 15 minutes and I'm sure people at Comcast know the answer to this even if they didn't set the time limit.

until the agency 'releases' (ends) the EMS broadcast it won't end. again call that agency.
