TV Go app for Windows

Can someone from Comcast please answer my question? I would like to know if/when Xfinity will offer the TV Go app for the Windows platform.  I have a Windows-based tablet and would really like to have this functionality on my tablet.

Sorry, but what do you mean by "Windows Tablet"?  If you are using a Windows machine, have you tried just using the web site:  http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/

 

Just a suggestion, but when you ask questions like this, be sure to clearly and completly describe your environment.  You will get better answers more quickly that way.

Thanks for your response.  I have a hybrid Windows laptop...it functions as both a regular notebook computer as well as a tablet (Dell XPS 12 Ultrabook).  I'm running Windows 8.1 on it.  So I took your advice and went to the website to watch live TV.  It seems that the only networks I can get the live video to work are the ESPN and Disney networks, again using Windows 8.1.  I also have a desktop that runs Windows 7 and all the networks seem to work fine on Window 7.  Can you tell me if full Windows 8 support for live TV will happen soon?

I don't have Windows 8 myself, but I've seen several comments from other users who are having problems with it.  I can suggest you try installng a different browser.  I personally use Chrome and have never had any serious problems using the web site.  It doesn't harm anythiing haing more than one browser installed on your PC (I have four different installed myself).

 

I'll be "upgrading" to Windows 8 myself in a few weeks, so I'll be eager to know if Chrome works for you. Good luck!

You cannot legally install Chrome on Windows RT (Surface). So that solution doens't work.

The problem with browsers is browsers use too much data, running a bunch of extra parameters for web pages and uploads and such. The extra noise becomes a distraction from the tv experience. One of the reasons for the "app" instead of the "browser" is to be able to slim down the amount of data that is required and to run the application more smoothly without the unnecessary extras. Chrome especially uses way too much data on the backend. The Windows 10 app environment allows for apps to be designed from html, just like the Comcast web page. How much effort would it require, Comcast, to add a Windows 10 App filepath and extension to the html Guide and Player you already have on the web? The Comcast viewing experience on Windows could be much faster and much less noisy.

This is not true.  I am trying to watch the same channels that I watch at home on the road.  We have been lied to.  I am trying to watch an NBA game but I am being told that I can only watch if I am connected to my hom network.  What a  crock.

the owners/providers of the content set the terms and conditions, not comcast. record it and play it later perhaps?

In-home you have access to stream your full channel lineup while connected to your in-home XFINITY network. Out of home, the apps and portal have 180+ "TV Go" channels which you can find by filtering at the top of Live TV for "Available out of home".  Some sporting events are, unfortunately, blacked out at the discretion of the programmer.

have you pointed your browser to https://tv.xfinity.com/  ? It isn't an app, can't download.

I tried watching anything on my tablet and laptop on firefox and explorer and it says flashplayer needs the newest version which i had but i hit the install anyways still didnt work. what is the issue with web page my phone works good.

windows 10 IE includes flash and it is integrated. I can use any browser and get on the stream site. Did you try Chrome?
