Hi, I have a RokuTV (TCL 43S303) and tried to watch Game of Thrones on HBO via Xfinity Stream last night and the TV kept rebooting!  Very frustrating.  After the second reboot I ended up switching to another TV that has a Roku2 (4210R) box and it streamed fine.  Any ideas?

Hi, Bardmaster. Sorry about the trouble streaming Game of Thrones last night on your Roku TV. Are you still experiencing any issues with the XFINITY Stream Beta app on your Roku TV or was the issue isolated to HBO last night?

Actually I just got this TV, and it turns out this behavior occurs for most channels.  I've experienced this now - a crash within a couple minutes, consistently - on HBO, CSNBA, FX, and NBC but some channels like FOX, CBS, and ABC are fine.  These are all HD.

I also had some issues with the same channels using another Live TV streaming service, called Emby, where the stream just wouldn't load.  They ended up having to force transcoding which fixed the problem, mentioning those channels were coming across in H.264 (MP4) format which was causing the problem.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps for the XFINITY Stream Beta app:

  • Logout then back into the mobile app and re-attempt streaming the affected channels.
  • (If problem persists) - Force close the XFINITY App and relaunch the app.
  • (If problem persists) - Uninstall, then reinstall the application.
  • (If problem persists) - Power down your Roku device and then turn the power back on.

Let me know if any of these steps do the trick.
