Improve app to allow connection from iPad to larger screen. When will xfinity make this possible?

Purchased lightning to vga adapter ($50) to connect iPad to external monitor only to find xfinity doesn't allow.  Need to fix this.  They have nothing to lose by permitting an expanded view of programming that has been purchased by longtime loyal customer for their own use.  Stupid.

xfinity's contract with providers/producers probably doesn't allow that. You can use a windows lap/desktop with the chrome browser and a Chromecast dongle (hdmi) to play on the screen of your TV.

Or you can simply connect the computer with a video cable like HDMI to the TV. The problem is (at least for me) that the PC renders live TV not at the same quality as the Android app. For example, a news channel with a running ticker at the bottom is smooth on Android but choppy on the PC. I therefore would like to cast Xfinity TV from my tablet or phone to TV. Has anybody tried it? Does it work?

when you go to the tv.xfinity.com web site using the chrome browser, you can cast to any comcast chromecast device in your network. once you have it casting maximize the screen. you can put other windows on top of it or even minimize it. it is sometimes choppy if you don't have a good netowrk connection.

Comcast has blocked casting from tablets or phones through the Xfinity TV app. It use to work, but not anymore.

I have the same problem with my Android tablet and HDMI. Really stupid. I can't imagine why.

Comcast licenses the content we offer from programmers and studios. Those companies require strict protection of the content (called "DRM" or digital rights management).  HDMI doesn't offer a secure/protected connection - it could be connected to a recording device - so the contracts with most programmers specifically don't allow it.  I too wish it wasn't the case.

All I want to do is attach my tablet to my tv in my RV. Not allowing that is stupid. Pay enough for comcast without many options for this new digital world.

If Comcast blocks casting from a Tablet or Mobile device using the Xfinity TV app, can you cast from a laptop or PC or do they block that as well?
