I am trying to watch The Walking Dead on a Note 5 and I have no access to full screen anymore. What gives?

assuming you have x1 entertainment system and that you are watching a recorded asset.

 

go to the TV app 'recordings'. select an episode.  on the next page check to see if the channel recorded is the HD version of the network. for example, my Walking Dead says AMCHD and has the channel number for HD version of the channel. If you recorded the SD version it will appear with black curtains around it and no ability to zoom the image. (iDevices can use a zoom feature to custom zoom the image).
