The 10/13/16 update to the iPad app (v. 3.9.1) has disabled audio streaming to an Airplay speaker. This capability had been supported in all prior versions of the app. I want to make clear that I'm talking about ***audio-only** Airplay streaming, not video streaming (video streaming has never been supported).
See the attachment for the error message I now get when trying to stream audio via Airplay. Please fix!
Note: Bluetooth audio streaming still works, so I have to assume/hope that Airplay audio streaming was disabled unintentionally.
Update: Based on the error message it looks like the App thinks I'm strying to stream video. But as I mentioned, I am only trying to stream audio to Airplay speaker, which worked fine until this update.
you mentioned all but which app you were using.
This is the Xfinity TV app for iPad, v. 3.9.1, updated on 10/13/16. I am using iOS 10.0.2.
for listings 'work' and dvr manager (guide includes favorites already) you might want to try the xfinity TV Remote app. black on white text, fast scrolling, go to settings 'favorites' to quickly set unset favorites.
Same problem. Has this been fixed in order to stream audio?
I don't believe this issue has been resolved yet. I'll reach out to the technical team to see if there is a path forward to enable AirPlay audio while still blocking video (and if even AirPlaying audio is allowed by our programmer contracts, which is the reason we don't allow AirPlay or Chromecast in general).
