fax machine says poor transmission since installation of new Comcast modem

fax machine says poor transmission since installation of new Comcast modem

Brother multi-the fax has always worked. The scanner works. The printer works.  Since Comcast modem installed, the fax message indicates poor transmission and fails to send. May be coincidence but fax always worked prior.  1 out of 10 may succeed.  Telephone line direct from modem to scanner.  Same problem when telephone line routed to other jacks.
