Setting rules that include capturing a photo

I can see where I can create rules for sending alerts when a door is opened or closed during a selected time period.  But, how do I also get the camera to capture a photo when a door is opened or closed?  I was told my system had this functionality, but I can't seem to figure out how to set it up.  I want to capture photos regardless of whether the system is armed or not.

After you've signed into the XFINITY Home Portal, click the Automation tab, and click Create a Rule. Choose Cameras, and select the camera you want to have the rule apply to. Select the option to either take 5 photos or recording a video, and the screen after that will allow you to choose the trigger action (door opens, window opens, motion detected, etc).

 

I use the "record video when alarm is triggered" rule myself just in case my alarm ever does go off, I can capture what's happening in that moment.

I don't have camera as an option. It shows Security System, Doors, Windows, and Touchscreen for Create a Rule, but not a camera option. Why doesn't the camera option appear here?

Can you tell what model camera you have (the sticker on the back should have that info)? Can you also successfully view the camera image through your touchscreen?

The Model is ICamera2. Yes, I can view live camera (delayed 5-6 seconds) on my touch screen and on the app on my phone.

I don't know which camera model I have, but I also don't have the camera option under Rules.

 

Can you help?  The camera was installed yesterday (12/17/2015).

 

Edit:

 

I called XHome and they said I had the 300 system and needed to pay an extra $6.95/mo for the 350 system which includes recording and saving video.

 

Issue resolved.

I am all of a sudden having this problem even though I previosly had a camera rule set up. Now it has disappeared and I have no camera option when I go in to set up a rule. Sounds like a problem on your end, Comcast.

I previously had a rule set up to record a video and e-mail it to me when motion was detected.  The video attachment to the e-mail stopped working recently.  I went to check the rules and with the new format I don't see that option anymore.  I can create a rule to record a video when there is motion detection.  I can also create a rule to e-mail me when there is motion detection.  However, I don't see the option to attach the video to the e-mail.  Was that option removed? Or am I just not seeing it in the new set up?

In reviewing your account, the XFINITY Home package that you've had on your account does not include camera automation rules. The website should not have allowed these kinds of rules to be created and explain why that option is not available when you go to set up that type of rule. You can have this functionality added to your current services by contacting customer care.

In checking with our development team, email notifications with attachments isn't something our system is designed to do. You can, however, log into your XFINITY Home account and download the video or picture files if you wish to save them.
