voicemail isn't working

voicemail isn't working

Just change my phone and internet.  Internet is great but I can't set up my voicemail I did *99 and it says the mailbox number you trying to reach is not in service??????  I called comcast twice was hung up on after waiting for 10 minutes by the machine and the 2nd time I just waited 14 minutes and the phone went dead and hung up on me.  Not a good first impression.  Does anyone know what to do besides contact customer service who I can't get through too.  Did I miss a step?
