voice modem administration

Can anyone tell me how to reach my voice modem to change the security settings?  I found a link that said the IP is 192.168.0.1 but when I hooked a laptop to it I was not able to reach the modem admin using that IP.  I have an Avaya VOIP telephone I need to use (from my workplace) and it would not connect.  The IT person at work said it was being blocked by the firewall and that I need to set the Comcast router to "low" or "custom" security, but I cannot seem to get into it to view the settings.

Any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried 10.0.0.1?
