cannot receive incoming calls

cannot receive incoming calls

Per a letter from Comcast telling us we needed to upgrade our modem,  we had our  Arris 602-G/ct modem switched out  for an Arris TG862.  This was supposed to improve internet speed, etc.  We requested a Comcast tech (not a contractor working for Comcast)  to do the install.  Of course we didn't  get a tech, we got a contractor who had only been working for Comcast for 9 months.  He had issues right from the get go trying to get our phone to work with the new modem.  He made comments about how it doesn't usually take this long for a modem install.  Our BIG mistake was not checking for both incoming as well as outgoing calls.  The contractor just picked up the phone, heard a dial tone and assumed everything was OK.  Wrong!!  We are not able to get incoming calls.    So frustrating dealing with customer service.  We cannot wait 2,3,4 days for someone to take care of this issue.  All because of an upgraded modem that was supposed to have helped.  Sooooooooooo frustrating dealing with the incompetence of this company!!!!
