can't set up voice mail

can't set up voice mail

I call *99 from my home phone but can't set up my voice mail.  I get a recording = "The mailbox number that you are trying to reach is not in service. Goodbye."  What am I doing wrong?

You aren't doing anything wrong. Voicemail may not be on the account, or there may be something wrong with it. You may need to contact support.

I am having the same problem.  I just ported my number over on Tuesday.  I regret that action!  This is a tech support issue.  I contacted them on Wednesday. It is now Friday at 4:30 PM and it is still not fixed.  I work from home and let them know how urgent it is that I have voice mail.  My experience with Comcast support has been beyond frustrating.  Call them immediately because it will take at least 72 hours to get this problem addressed.
