callers get "Line not in service" instead of busy

callers get "Line not in service" instead of busy

Have 3 way package (Xfinity X1 cable, voice, internet)

Have called this one in several times, no resolution from support.

So we have voice service, comes with call waiting and voicemail.  Had tech support disable the voicemail, as my wife prefers a real answering machine for screeing calls.

Generally works, but here is the problem - She is on a call and call waiting kicks in, can't click over fast enough to get to the new call.  Caller gets a message that "Sorry, this line is not in service"      umm  What?

Another symptom - if someone calls while she is dialing or in that limbo time after you hang up the phone but don't have dial tone back yet - same message.

So - any ideas or experience with this?   Turning voicemail on is not really an option here.

Thanks!

Hi Jbrady33, I apologize for your experiences with your phone service.  Please let me know if this issue still exists with your call waiting message.

Thank you
