blinking light on phone

I had COMCAST Voice service added, then next day I had COMCAST disconnect the Voice Mail service, since my 92 yr old grandmother only wants to use her answering machine on her phone.  However, the "msg" light on her Uniden phone base unit is still blinking when there are no messages in the unit.  Is it possible that when COMCAST cancelled the Voice Mail service, they didn't delete the Voice Mail msgs and now she can't, since she no longer has a Voice Mail mailbox on the system/

Some Uniden sets have a menu system that you can access and cancel out any Message Wait Indicators or Missed Call Indicators.  What is the model number of your Uniden system?
