i want to turn off the answering system, how can i do that remotely?

The answer machine service with comcast can only be turn of by them since it is a feature on your phone service not at your home phone , turn it off is possible but as always you need to get the right person willing to work at the tech support # , be aware to turn it back on you will have to call again and dont know if they want to play that "game", if what you want is for your answer machine at home to get your messages just set it up to pick up before comcast does usually 3-4 ring you can set up comcast to pick up after 10 rings , to set up comcast just dial the star key plus 99 at your home phone and follow instruction on the prompt
