adding telephone to my service

adding telephone to my service

I currently have tv and internet and I want to add telephone service.  When I called comcast and spoke with someone they said I don't have the correct modem.  I have the 

Voice and Data Modem"

CI DPC3939

Serial Number: [Edited Private Information].

 

This was used the last time I had the triple play.  I don't understand why when I call he tells me they have to come and give me a different modem when I have the modem that is needed.   Please advise.  Thanks.

In addition to the site that geek46 provided, you can also verify with me though this device appears to be in spec for voice service. If you need further assistance with getting your voice service working please private message me your account verification. (account name, phone number, & service address) Thank You
