Why we get annoying calls

Why we get annoying calls

I finally got to the bottom of why we get annoying mystery calls.(Calls with nobody on the other end, and nonexistent numbers.) It turns out it is comcast that makes these calls. If you ask why they say they are checking with you about your account. I wondered why they would use that number if they wanted to talk to me about my account. After a little research I found out the calls are placed by auto dialers just to see if the line is active. "Why would they do that?" you ask. Because if the line is active your number goes on a list that is SOLD TO PHONE MARKETERS. Since comcast doesn't get paid for inactive numbers they have to make sure the numbers are active. Now you know why you are only allowed to block twelve numbers. If you don't believe me check out this website.http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-111-111-1111

Re: Why we get annoying calls

You know it is interesting, since this post my internet connection has gotten noticeably slower. Do you think I hit a nerve?
