Where does Xfinity get the numbers they hand out?

Where does Xfinity get the numbers they hand out?

So far I am not using my Xfinity Voice because of the large amount of calls I get that are either total wrong numbers or unwanted telemarketing scams. I got so annoyed I disconnected my phone cable going into the modem. I got tired of blocking yet one more number as they come in at a number of several every day. I am glad I decided to keep Vonage and get no unwanted calls ever. I've had several phone providers and none have been as infected as Xfinity Voice. I'm not sure how these numbers are selected so I conclude they are recycled and that's why they are pretty much useless to me. I know I can change my Vonage number from a list so it must be the same with Xfinity Voice, just a cheaper list. Is this common? Do others get several unwanted calls every day or am I just unlucky? Should I ask for a different number and will there be a charge?

 Thanks for any replies.

This is common...you can request a new number by calling 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489, or you can install NoMoRobo to stop up to 99% of these calls....   visit www.nomorobo.com to learn more.

Hi inquisitor,  I apologize for your experiences. This can happen with any new number from any provider, but  please respond to my private message if you would like to switch your number  and I will get this processed for you.

Thank you
