Voice Mail call waiting message

Voice Mail call waiting message

Every time I pick up my phone, I hear the stuttering beeps for a voice mail messages and each time I go to voice mail there is no message and when a have a message the display on my phone no longer shows message wait. Nothing has changed other than this started after Comcast was serving the lines in my neighborhood.

This has happened to me before too. I just noticed a new option under XFINITY Connect Preferences > Voice called "Message Wait Indicator". If you click "Edit" you'll see "By clicking refresh, your voicemail indicator will be refresh".

 

I assume this is meant to fix this issue. I hope it helps.

If you are still experiencing this issue, then tyr the following:

 

1.  Call your number using a different phone ( cell ).

2.  Leave yourself a VM....

3.  Use your Comcast phone system to retrieve and then delete the voicemail.

4.  This should clear the "phantom" stutter tone.

Thank you I had not noticed that that option before and it looked very promising, but sadly, when I tried it Comcast had a java script error on the page

Anytime I get squirrely stuff like this, I unplug my modem for a couple minutes, plug it back in, and in about 10 minutes it's fixed.  Seems I do this once a week, for phone / internet issues.

I ended up calling Comcast and they fixed the issue.
