Unable to port phone # - problem is with Comcast

Hello - I have tried on four occasions to add voice to my existing Comcast account.  I am ready to go to the triple play, but I am told by multiple Comcast employees that they are unable to port my existing Verizon number over to Comcast because my number is in a "different location than my current Comcast service".  I have explained that I am sitting in the same location, and they finally admitted that there is an error in the Comcast system.  But, that doesn't matter since they don't intend or cannot fix the problem, so my only recourse is to be assigned a new number, which I do not want.


I have contacted Verizon who says the problem is not with them, and the FCC who instructed me to file a complaint. 


I am an existing customer of Comcast; I pay alot of money to Comcast each month; yet Comcast seems very unwilling to help. 


Any help or advice would be appreciated.
