US Robotics v.92 modem slow now with Xfinity Voice

US Robotics v.92 modem slow now with Xfinity Voice

We just got Xfinity cable and voice. I work from home and have to use a phone line and dial up connection to log on to my work computer. Now that we got Xfinity Voice, after I log on,it's processes information real slow. Wondering if my US Robotics modem is not compatible with Xfinity voice? Thanks!

Comcast's phone service works fine for voice calls, but devices like fax machines and dial-up modems won't be able to run at full speed on it. For maximum speed with these you are better off with a POTS line.


You should also be aware that Comcast's "Unlimited" phone service is actually limited to 5000 minutes per month, or about 2.7 hours per day. See http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Customer-Service/Phone-being-disconnected-for-exceeding-5000-long-minut...
