From the OOMA FAQ website:

What do I need for the Ooma system to work?

All you need is a high-speed Internet connection (cable, DSL or fiber-optic), a regular home phone and a desire to save money.

OOMA will work with CDV VOIP service as Comcast does not supply DSL.

Re: Stand alone line or dry-loop DSL

I would like to keep my existing phone number at $40.00 charge through ooma, I must have both lines active, the new ooma phone number and comcast number for about three weeks to complete the purchase. I installed and set up the new system and could not purchase with out the second line, which sent me here. Thank you
