It seems that AT&T, Vonage, Century Tel, and several others have adapted the concept of having a simultaneous ring option. What I mean by simultaneous ring is when a call comes into my Comcast phone number, I would like to set it up so that it also rings at my cell phone. My currrent Vonage line has this ability, my old AT&T line had this also. Why doesn't comcast? If it does have it for RESIDENTIAL customers, i sure can't find it anywhere in the voice preferences/settings.
Comcast still is behind on advanced voice features like simultaneous ring and offering distinctive ringing.
Why? No one on this community user to user forum would ever know, but it has been brought up many times.
You specifically asked about residential service.
Since this is a user to user community forum, your best to use another means to contact Comcast and ask them why.
Comcast employees rarely appear here, ones that do have their forum user ID in red. You are not the first to request features that are offiered only to business subscribers.
