Security usage dangers by usung Comcast land line

I just found out Comcast does not provie free back up batteries for their phone modems any more. It is now a purchase option. All land line security systems are in danger of not providing emergence assistance when power goes out. Most security systems have battery back up but Comcast decided to eliminate this phone critical feature. Power failuers place owners in a critical and potential dangerious situstion if aid is needed. And the land lines use to be available during power failuers if an emergency  phone assistance is needed. I question how many Comcast land line users are aware of this risk. The phone part of the triple play packages should be seriously reviewed by owners of home security system for fire /carbon monoxide and other proctection. No respone will automatically happen as the connection is not made to the company.
