Re: No dial tone

Re: No dial tone

I had no dial tone.  The Comcast tech showed up and installed a wall jack. Connected the line to my new Xfinity Modem and it worked perfectly!!

Other Portable Phone upstairs - I pressed TALK and heard a dial tone.  All was well...  NOT!!

Turned out, the main phone turns off automatically when you place it in the charge stand.

The 'other' portable phone upstairs DOES NOT automatically turn itself off (hang up) when placed in the charge stand.

Once I pressed OFF, the dial tone was returned to both phones.

Went wild on the techs thinking they were missing something.  I wish I could share this solution withl ALL of them regarding Dial Tones.

Re: No dial tone

If one of the phones one the same line was not hung up correctly the tel light on the gateway or eMTA would still be flashing to show an off hook condition.
