Porting phone from Comcast to different provider

Whom do I contact at Comcast to release or unlock my residential phone number for porting to a different provider? The other provider told me that Comcast's system is not allowing my number to be ported. Told me I had to contact Comcast. Thanks.

Call Comcast @ 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489 nd tell the CSR you need your Comcast number released to be ported to your new provider.  The CSR will be able to investigate, talk to you and if needed escalate to Tier 2 support.

Lestomurter, usually there should not be an issue with a port out as long as the number is active with us. Did they provide any further details of why they were unable to port it, besides that the system was not allowing it? -FC

All is resolved. The other provider, Verizon, had a problem on its end and solved it. Thanks all.
