I get "unable to call, try again" on outgoing and incoming phone calls.

You could be in an "outage" event or your modem may not be connecting to the Comcast network...  You can try to powercycle your device, then after unplugging, plug back in and allow 3-5 minutes for modem reconnect... once all lights on device are solid, try making a call then.   If stillnot working, you may need to contact Comcast to submit a trouble-ticket for your affected services.
